Here’s a selection of programme covers from landmark games in the club’s history. First up we have the the game against Scotland’s oldest club that was played on 24th October 1957 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the club. Then in 1977 came the club’s finest modern-day moment. A visit to Wembley to play in the FA Vase final. Manchester Utd provided the opposition for the 125th anniversary game whilst Inter Milan, who including World Cup winner Marco Materazzi and a certain Marco Balotelli in their line-up, made the trip to Sheffield to play in the 150th anniversary game.
It’s been reported that Sheffield FC, the World’s first football club, are planning to auction an archive of historical documents that include a pamphlet containing the original handwritten rules of 1858. Auctioneers estimate that the archive could fetch in excess of one million pounds. Money that club chairman Richard Tims says is essential to ensure the future of the club.

Held at Bramall Lane on the 24th October 1957. Exactly 100 years to the day that Sheffield FC were officially founded. This match versus Queen’s Park of Scotland is the World’s first ever football club centenary celebration fixture.
Bramall Lane was also the venue for Sheffield FC’s 125th anniversary match against Manchester United and the 150 years celebration game against Inter Milan.
