Today’s modern sport system has lost all traces of social value and gradually is losing anything remotely positive about it. Football in Italy has become a degrading experience and we feel that starting from the bottom we can bring about change and promote a sport which is of a social value. The same is happening in other cities all over Italy.
From an interesting read on a new club in Italy, Spartak Lecce. (via pitchinvasion)
Italien Weltmeister 1982: I’ve previously posted this Italian stamp but here we have it used on a German cover showing the iconic image of Dino Zoff lifting the World Cup on which the design of the stamp is based, together with a matching first day of issue postmark. A great Calcio poster from way back when. Im guessing it must be around 1955-56 as Novara are in the picture. I also love the Lazio player (fascist salute?) and the Roma player who looks like he is about to wipe him out. (via thegentlemanultra)
