Back in the summer of 1980 my younger brother wrote a letter to Sheffield United asking if he could train with the players. He got this letter back from the manager, Harry Haslam, saying that this was not unfortunately possible. However he did invite my brother down to watch the training.
My dad phoned the club as suggested and a date was arranged for them to go and watch the players train. Unfortunately for my brother he got himself in a spot of bother which required some family discipline and part of his punishment meant that he lost out on the chance to visit the club and watch the players train. He was gutted!
