Can you make a twitter team? Sheffield United fans can…

This post has been prompted by an article that appeared on the seventy two, an excellent blog that focuses on the 72 clubs who make up the Football League. This article Can you make a twitter team? Ipswich Town fans can (and whose title I have shamelessly ripped off) names a number of former & current Ipswich Town players who maintain a twitter account. It’s a pretty good team but not a patch on the one that can be made up of former Sheffield United players who are on twitter.

Though because the Sheffield United team is missing a goalkeeper it’s fair to say they’d struggle but they can always play goalie-wag and hope for the best! So here it is the ten former Sheffield United players I’ve found on twitter.

In defence we have Chris Kamara, former England U-21 internationals Jon Harley and Jordan Stewart and have up & coming Sheffield-lad Kyle Walker who’s been tipped for the top.

Midfield looks pretty strong with Turkish international Colin Kazim-Richards, Antigua & Barbuda international Mikele Leigertwood, Welsh international Carl Robinson and former England U-20 player Danny Webber.

Up front we have two former England internationals leading the line in James Beattie & Brian Deane.

A fine team indeed and all they need is a keeper. You can find them all here on this twitter list. There’s also a few current SUFC players on twitter. You can find them all here.
