Sheffield FC v Queen’s Park - The World’s First Centenary Match
Ticket for the World’s first centenary game held at Bramall Lane on 24th October 1957. I’ve ran the image through a couple of filters to tart it up a bit. You can view the original here and also have a butchers at the matchday programme.

A great Calcio poster from way back when. Im guessing it must be around 1955-56 as Novara are in the picture. I also love the Lazio player (fascist salute?) and the Roma player who looks like he is about to wipe him out. (via thegentlemanultra)

Estádio Salazar 1968 - Mozambique
Opened in 1968 when Mozambique was still under Portuguese colonial rule the stadium was officially inaugurated with a match between the national teams of Portugal and Brazil. The Brazilians won 2-0 with goals from Rivelino and Jair.
In 1975 the stadium was the venue for Mozambique’s proclamation of independence from Portugal and was renamed Estadio da Machava - in 2005 the stadium was again renamed this time to the Independence Memorial Stadium. The stadium is home to 9-times Mozambique champions Ferroviario de Maputo.
